James Holahan, Chairman FJT, greets an Cathaoirleach, Councillor Cormac Devlin at the AGM.

The AGM of the friends of Joyce Tower Society took place on the 9th March 2017. The meeting included a review of all the activities of the society throughout 2016 during which the wonderful work of our volunteers and the FJT committee was highlighted as they continued to work hard to ensure the continued success of their iconic tower.

It was a privilege to welcome the Cathaoirleach  (Chairman) of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council, Councillor Cormac Devlin, who popped in for a visit and to show the Council’s support for the wonderful work of the Friends of Joyce Tower Society.

Cormac had some kind words of support:

“The James Joyce Tower & Museum is one of our many splendid heritage jewels in the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

It is thanks to the hardworking, committed and generous volunteers that this historic landmark is open all year round.

Your on-going passion and determination to showcase Joycean Dublin and Joyce’s physical and literary connection to this area is one that makes me very proud. Our County is, and future generations will be, extremely grateful for your work and dedication to the Tower and Museum because you are assisting in keeping the memory and relevance of James Joyce alive in the modern age.

Thank you for your invitation to attend your AGM. Best wishes for the year ahead.”

Thank you for your support Cormac.
